Find out which containers can be returned through the ACT CDS to receive a 10c refund each.
2. Take containers to a return point
There are different types of return points available. Find the one nearest or most convenient for you.
3. Get your refund
Get 10c for each eligible container you return.
Refunds
Electronic refunds
Electronic refunds to your bank account are available at any return point. You must have a Return-It Express account.
For an electronic refund:
- Before you drop off your containers in a bag at any return point, use the screen to sign into your Return-It Express account.
- You will receive a printed label with your account details to attach to the bag.
- Return your bag of containers.
- Your receipt will appear on your Return-It Express account in a few business days.
- Once you have your digital receipt, transfer your refund to your nominated bank account.
Donate
Donations are available at any return point except reverse vending machines.
Option 1
- At Drop & Go points, pods and depots, before you return your containers, use the screen to select a charity from the on-screen options.
- You will receive a printed label with the charity’s details to attach to the bag.
- Return your bag of containers.
Option 2
- At Drop & Go points, pods and depots, before you return your containers, sign in with the phone number provided by the
organisation you would like to support. - You will receive a printed label with the charity’s details to attach to the bag.
- Return your bag of containers.
* Note: If returning at Vinnies or Salvos, donation options will differ.
